Digitally Managing Howling Winds #stormali #Ricoh360
September 19, 2018
WE'RE IN A STORM ALLEY on the Clonmel Digital Campus tracking the run of Storm Ali through County Tipperary. This means we're gathering imagery, video clips, 360 shots, and audio interviews throughout the day.
This was a dynamic tasking and that meant rushing out into the adverse weather without a firm understanding of the specific deliverables. We wanted to get high resolution still photographs in landscape mode. Several of the still photos needed to be in square format at 1400 x 1400 pixel dimensions. We needed several 360 panoramic images snapped at ground level and at waist level. The audio should be recorded in high quality MP3 format. HD video needed to be recorded in both landscape and portrait mode.
We didn't succeed in getting all those specific media objects in the short time period allotted and several of the media objects were not uploaded to the correct shared collaborative space.
Two of our creative photographers took the Ricoh Theta S outside for a panoramic look at the campus and the wind damage.
Winds in excess of 40 mph uprooted several delicate trees.
